- Monday afternoon, September seventh, three PM Pacific. Today's biggest check is a massive one-point-one billion dollars for Ineffable Intelligence, valuing the AI lab at over five billion. It's the headline in a day that saw ten disclosed rounds. We'll break down the biggest deals, from a record-breaking seed round to major funding in Indian space tech and a two billion dollar acquisition in the insurance sector. With me are our Markets and World analysts. Let's get into the numbers.
- Here's the snapshot. Total disclosed funding today hit one-point-one-nine billion dollars across ten rounds. The largest, as mentioned, was Ineffable Intelligence's one-point-one billion dollar Seed round. AI was the hottest category, accounting for five of the top ten deals. On the M&A front, EQT is set to acquire specialty insurance broker McGill and Partners in a deal valued at two billion dollars. The story of the day: the billion-dollar seed round is now a category, with AI labs like Ineffable raising massive pre-product war chests.
- Let's start with that top deal. Ineffable Intelligence, a London-based reinforcement-learning lab, has raised a one-point-one billion dollar seed round at a five-point-one billion dollar post-money valuation. The round was co-led by Sequoia and Lightspeed. This is the largest seed round in European history for a company that hasn't shipped a product. It signals a major escalation in pre-emptive, massive investments into promising AI research teams, betting on talent and foundational model potential long before commercialization.
- Next up, we go to space. Indian space-tech firm Pixxel secured a one hundred million dollar Series C led by Temasek and Seraphim Space Investment Trust. Pixxel is building a constellation of hyperspectral Earth-imaging satellites for detailed geospatial data. This marks the largest funding round for an Indian space technology company, bringing its total funding to one hundred ninety-five million dollars. The capital will accelerate the build-out of its satellite constellation and its AI-powered analytics platform, cementing India's role in the commercial space race.
- At number three, women's wellness brand Nua raised a fifty million dollar Series C. The round was led by Peak XV and Filter Capital. Nua, which offers sanitary pads and other personal care products, is a major player in the Indian market. This new funding is earmarked for significant brand building campaigns, expanding its distribution channels across India, and funding research and development for new products. It's a significant investment in the direct-to-consumer space targeting the growing women's wellness category in the region.
- The fourth largest round today goes to AI infrastructure startup Keenable, which raised a twenty-six million dollar Seed round led by Accel. Founded by veterans from Yandex and Amazon, Keenable is building web-search and data-retrieval infrastructure designed specifically for AI agents, not human users. The company is creating an independent index of over one hundred billion documents. This addresses a critical bottleneck for AI models: the need for reliable, structured, and machine-readable data at a massive scale, separate from the human-centric internet.
- Coming in at number five is Cato, an Italian AI-powered platform, which secured a six-point-five million dollar Seed round led by Keen Venture Partners. Cato's SaaS platform helps businesses find, analyze, and compete for public sector tenders, a notoriously complex process. The company aims to automate and simplify public procurement. With this new capital, Cato is planning to expand its operations internationally beyond Italy and will continue to invest in developing its core AI technology to further streamline the bidding process for its enterprise clients.
- At number six, Swiss deeptech startup Jaipur Robotics has raised five-point-one million dollars in a Seed round. The funding was co-led by EquityPitcher Ventures and High-Tech Gründerfonds. The company is developing advanced AI and robotics to fully automate waste-to-energy power plants. By deploying autonomous systems, Jaipur Robotics aims to significantly improve the efficiency, safety, and operational uptime of these critical infrastructure facilities. This is a key application of robotics in a challenging industrial environment.
- The seventh deal today is for Navana.ai, a voice AI company focused on Indian languages. It raised a four-point-eight million dollar Series A led by investor Ronnie Screwvala. Navana provides highly accurate speech models for various Indian languages and dialects, primarily serving the banking, financial services, and insurance sectors. This fresh capital is targeted at scaling its AI Contact Centre product and its automated evaluation platform, which helps regulated industries in India ensure compliance and quality in their customer interactions.
- At number eight, we have a fast-growing SaaS company. Fluencify, a Stockholm-based creator marketing platform, raised a four-point-three million dollar Pre-seed round led by byFounders. The platform uses AI agents to manage influencer campaigns for brands. What's notable is that after launching just six months ago, the company has already surpassed two million dollars in annual recurring revenue. The funding will be used to fuel its expansion into the competitive but lucrative U.S. market, a major step for the young European startup.
- Rounding out the top ten, UAE-based fintech platform Sav raised three-point-five million dollars in a Pre-Series A round led by Phoenix Venture Partners. Sav uses AI to integrate savings, investments, and payments for consumers. The funding will fuel its expansion into Saudi Arabia and further develop its AI infrastructure. And as we mentioned, the day's big M&A news saw private equity firm EQT acquire specialty insurance broker McGill and Partners from Warburg Pincus in a two billion dollar deal, backing the firm's data and AI-led growth strategy.
- And finally, the one thing to watch. Reports suggest AI developer Anthropic is considering an IPO in October at a staggering two trillion dollar valuation. If it proceeds, this would be the largest IPO in history, even surpassing SpaceX's debut earlier this year. An S-1 filing is anticipated in the coming weeks, which will give us the first official look at the company's financials and growth. That's a potential market-mover we'll be tracking closely. We'll be back tomorrow afternoon at three PM Pacific with the next deal flow.
