  • Thursday afternoon, September tenth. Today's biggest check goes to AI chip startup Positron AI, which just locked in a massive eight hundred seventy-five million dollar Series C, catapulting its valuation to five billion dollars. That deal was co-led by venture firm NEA and Netscape founder Jim Clark. We'll break down that mega-round and the nine other deals that crossed the wire today. With me are our Markets and World correspondents. Let's get to the numbers.
  • Here is today's snapshot. Ten disclosed rounds brought in a total of one-point-one-eight billion dollars. The hottest category was AI, accounting for six of the top ten deals. The story of the day is undoubtedly Positron AI's valuation, which quintupled in just seven months. And in M&A news, smart-home platform SKYX announced its merger with AI-powered competitor Deako, signaling further consolidation in the connected home space.
  • Let's dig into that number one deal. Positron AI's eight hundred seventy-five million dollar round values the company at five times its one billion dollar mark from February. The company designs AI inference chips that cleverly use commodity memory, bypassing the severe supply constraints on the high-bandwidth memory, or HBM, that powers most of today's advanced chips. This massive influx of capital highlights intense investor appetite for any hardware that can seriously challenge Nvidia's market dominance.
  • Coming in at number two, Kapital, a neobank and business lender, raised one hundred twenty-five million dollars in a Growth Equity round. The financing was co-led by Tru Arrow Partners and Fasanara Capital. Serving over three hundred fifty thousand customers across Mexico, the US, Europe, and Latin America, Kapital is a significant player in cross-border fintech. The new funding, which follows a one hundred million dollar Series C last year, will be used to expand the company's AI and data analytics capabilities for its lending platform.
  • At number three, healthtech firm Inspiren secured a seventy million dollar Series C led by NewView Capital. The company provides an AI-powered platform for senior living communities, offering real-time behavioral monitoring, fall detection, and insights into care utilization. This round brings Inspiren's total funding to two hundred twenty-five million dollars. The capital will be used to scale its solution to meet the rapidly growing demand for advanced safety and monitoring technology in the senior care market.
  • The fourth spot goes to Luminary, a fintech startup that raised a twenty-two million dollar Series A led by Ten Coves Capital. Luminary is building an AI-native platform for wealth transfer and administration. It works by structuring data from complex estate documents to automate workflows for financial advisors, law firms, and accounting firms. With a total of thirty-two million dollars raised to date, Luminary is positioning itself to modernize the traditionally manual and paper-heavy process of estate administration.
  • At number five, we head to China, where startup SinapisAI closed a fifteen million dollar seed round. The financing was co-led by Dingxin Capital and Nanjing Innovation Investment Group. The company is focused on building AI collaboration infrastructure, providing foundational tools for developers. This seed round, while early-stage, indicates continued strong investment in the fundamental building blocks of AI development within China's competitive tech ecosystem.
  • In sixth place, Graph AI raised thirteen-point-three million dollars for its Series A, with Insight Partners leading the round. The company has built an AI-native platform for pharmacovigilance, which is the critical process of monitoring and reporting adverse effects of pharmaceutical drugs. The results are impressive: in live deployments, Graph AI's platform has been shown to reduce case processing time by over ninety percent, cutting a task that took over three hours down to under ten minutes.
  • At number seven, Australian startup Metacognition raised a ten million dollar pre-seed round led by Main Sequence. The company is building an AI operating system designed to add reasoning and persistent memory layers on top of existing AI models. It plans to use the funding to scale its team from ten to one hundred within the next year, targeting specialized sectors like mining and enterprise operations. And at number eight, London-based HelmGuard secured seven-point-three million in seed funding to expand its AI compliance platform to the US.
  • Rounding out the list, Wyre AI, a vertical SaaS platform for the construction industry, raised five million dollars in a seed round at number nine. Its AI transforms drawings and specifications into structured data, reducing scope development by hundreds of hours per project. And finally, in public markets, Indian transformer manufacturer Kanohar Electricals is closing its IPO today. The offering, which raised approximately one hundred twenty-six million dollars, has been subscribed over eleven times, showing strong investor demand for industrial and infrastructure plays in India.
  • Now for the one thing to watch. AI customer-research startup Listen Labs has reportedly walked away from a signed one hundred twenty-five million dollar Series C term sheet. That deal would have valued the company at one-point-five billion dollars. The reason for this unusual move is said to be preliminary acquisition talks with Salesforce. The potential price tag? Approximately two billion dollars. This could be a landmark acquisition in the AI and customer experience space, so keep an eye out for an official announcement.
  • That's the top ten for Thursday, September tenth. The through-line today was clear: AI continues to command the lion's share of venture capital, from foundational hardware challenging incumbents to specialized applications transforming every industry from healthcare to construction. We'll be watching the Salesforce and Listen Labs rumor closely. That's all for today's deal flow. We'll be back tomorrow afternoon at three PM Pacific with the next set of term sheets.
